A Club That Scores and Cares.
Windham Country Club looks like a mighty challenge from many tees. And it is. But if you play smart (maybe the toughest challenge in golf!), you can make pars. Elevated tees and greens, some water here and there, and a few massive boulders make this a memorable course to play.
Local knowledge is a wonderful thing, so repeat visits are highly encouraged to learn the dos and don’ts of where to aim at Windham.
Opened in 1995, this delightful daily fee layout places a real emphasis on golf outings. From the great clubhouse to the attentive pro staff, Windham takes care of a group’s whole day.
The club also has another specialty: its affiliation with Northeast Passage. Northeast Passage is a nationally recognized leader in the provision of innovative therapeutic recreation services. Northeast Passage delivers disability-related health promotion and adapted sports programs throughout New England, and is a program of the University of New Hampshire’s College of Health and Human Services and is an affiliate of Disabled Sports USA.
Windham, in conjunction with Northeast Passage, runs an adaptive golf program to introduce individuals with disabilities to the game through instruction and on-course play.
“We provide specialized clubs, grip aids, as well as solo rider adaptive golf carts,” says Head Golf Professional Joanne Flynn, “to make accessing the course easier for wheelchair users and others with mobility impairments.” The program helps individuals learn the best way to get back on the course after an injury or experience golf for the first time in a safe and supportive atmosphere. The course provides carts free to those who require them.
