Wilson Lake Country Club Wilton, ME
A Great Adventure
In the early 1930’s, the great golf architect Wayne Stiles created this classic 9-hole layout that plays to nearly 3,200 yards from the back tees. Today, Wilson Lake is one of the best 9-hole tracts in Maine.
Although the routing at Wilson Lake includes five parallel holes, the uphill and downhill nature of these holes, from the clubhouse to the lower points of the property, demand second shots of varying length and difficulty. In other words, no two holes are alike.
There is no water on the course, but watch out for the mature trees and the strategically placed bunkers that frame the greens. The signature 153 yard Par 3 second hole plays from an elevated tee across a deep gully with woods close to each side of the fairway. Pretty to view, dangerous to play. And be careful on the beautifully maintained greens that are subtly affected by the uneven terrain. Wilson Lake also has an alternative set of tees creating an interesting 18-hole round of golf. If you are in the area, Wilson Lake is a must play.
The beautiful setting at Wilson Lake also makes this an attractive venue for outings, functions and weddings. For more information call us at (207) 645-2016.
